New England Family Osteopathy
TJ Macari, D.O.
Serving the greater Boston and Southern New Hampshire areas, New England Family Osteopathy strives to bring a hands-on approach to health and healing, treating patients at all stages of life, from newborns to seniors.
At this time, I am continuing to provide osteopathic care during my office hours. Dr. Macari is the only staff person in the office, so only one patient at a time is in the office. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to call the office at 781-245-0843. Thank you and stay healthy!
Dr. Macari believes that all children benefit from osteopathic treatment as soon after birth as possible. For that reason, New England Family Osteopathy is proud to offer all newborn babies (under 3 months old) a complimentary initial evaluation and treatment. For more information, please see this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgeiB4kpakw, starts at 0:40) featuring Dr. Macari during his residency at St. Barnabas Hospital. Please call 781-245-0843 for an appointment!
What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathic Medicine is a traditional “hands-on” diagnostic and therapeutic science. Pioneered in the late 1800's by a medical doctor named Andrew Taylor Still, Osteopathic Medicine is dedicated to the treatment and healing of the entire patient. It is based on three main principles:
1. The body is a whole dynamic unit of function and anything done to one part can affect the other parts.
2. The body has the ability to heal itself, with an inherent therapeutic power and constant drive toward health.
3. There is an interrelationship and interdependence between structure (anatomy) and function in the human body, and knowledge of the details of that structure allows the Osteopathic physician to effect changes that no pill can achieve.
